Sugababe Amelle Berrabah has spoken out for the first time on the hell she went through after her sister, Samiya, accused her boyfriend Freddie Fuller of rape.

The allegations, made 14 months ago, have since been retracted - but the controversy of the story has blighted Amelle's career with Sugababes, the band she joined in 2006.

"Sometimes I'd have panic attacks. I physically and mentally couldn't handle it. I just wanted to go into a room and never leave," Amelle reveals in an interview with The Sun. "I didn't think there was any room in my head to think she was lying, not one doubt in my head because no one would do that. She was talking about it all in so much detail."

But, following two lie detector tests, Freddie's innocence was presented to Amelle who confronted her sister:

"She turned around and said, 'I think I must have been dreaming then, Amelle;. I need more than that. She was like my best mate, we'd do everything together. I feel I've lost a piece of me."

All charges against Freddie have been dropped.
