Good news for Leona Lewis - she has become the first British female to have an American number one record in 20 years.
The X Factor winner has shot to the top of the charts with her smash hit single Bleeding Love, thanks to an appearance on massive chat show Oprah and some heavy publicity at the side of her talent show show mentor Simon Cowell.
"I'm so overwhelmed. I called my family and my mum started crying. They're coming to visit me in New York and we're all going to celebrate," Leona said yesterday.
The last time a British woman was at the top of the American charts was when Kim Wilde realeased You Keep Me Hanging On in the mid-eighties.
Only two other artists - Petula Clarke and Sheena Easton - have achieved the same accolade.
