Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber has turned down a massive golden handcuffs deal that would tie him to the BBC for the foreseeable future.

Following his success on his talent shows, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria, Any Dream Will Do, and I'd Do Anything, the channel wanted to develop new projects for the musical theatre maestro. However, he's not interested.

"This isn't my day job - I'm not Graham Norton," he tells The Sun. "I think I will do two more series and then quit this kind of thing. I have an idea to do Jesus Christ Superstar next year and then maybe another all-new show which I'm really excited about."

Andrew also angered the channel by agreeing to appear on Simon Cowell's US show, American Idol, as a guest judge. We love the Lloyd Webber - he's a law unto himself!
